Reflexology

Reflexology is massaging of a reflex in the foot that produces an effect on another part of the body. As a holistic therapy it uses the principle that no one body part works in isolation; body, mind and spirit work together for the benefit of the whole body. Reflexology assists with this balance.  The history of reflexology goes back to 250BC, The Chinese theory is based on the belief that the body runs on vital energy. This subtle energy flows down the body in zones from the head to the feet. Where there is illness or discomfort in the body the channel becomes blocked so the energy flow is interrupted. Working on the feet unblocks the channels allowing energy flow to be restored (rebalanced).

Reflexology is a relaxing treatment that anyone can benefit from. The most common applications for treatment are: Stress, Pregnancy, Poor Circulation, Chest Congestion, Joint Pain, Bereavement, Disturbed Sleep, General Health Maintenance and Self Indulgence.  Its uses are endless.

In using complimentary therapies we are taking responsibility for our well being. A holistic therapist treats the whole body, managing the symptoms and not just the condition. To me, an important part of reflexology is to relax and allow the body time to balance on completion of your treatment; I do home visits so I can leave you in the comfort of your home to rest.   Therapies such as reflexology can work alongside orthodox medical treatments and are not considered as a replacement for professional medical treatment. I am a fully qualified and insured Reflexologist. For further details or to make an appointment please contact me.
